From the 2nd to the 6th of May 2025, our Managing Director, Nick Smith, will take on the Netherlands Liberation Trail to help raise funds for the Royal British Legion.
The RBL has been supporting Service men and women, ex-serving personnel and their families since 1921. They provide expert rehabilitation, job support, housing advice and more to help maintain or rebuild their lives and those around them.
Nick will be cycling the Netherlands Liberation Trail, an endurance challenge that covers 300 kilometres over several days. This journey is not only a test of physical stamina but also a tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the men and young boys who fought for freedom during World War II.
The trail begins in Nijmegen, with the first day featuring a 118-kilometre ride. The challenge concludes in Wageningen, where participants will join the Dutch annual Liberation Day Festival, a celebration of the nation’s victory and freedom. This festival marks the end of the journey and honours the history of the liberation of the Netherlands.
For three days of the journey, Nick will be joined by our Commercial Manager, Avril Acornley. Together, they aim to raise significant funds for the Royal British Legion, ensuring that the essential support provided by the RBL continues to reach those who need it most.
Your support can make a real difference. Please join us in backing Nick and Avril as they embark on this important and challenging journey. By donating, you’ll help the RBL continue its vital work for those who have given so much for our country.
