TSS Senior Project Manager Paul Campbell recently attended the Energy and Utilities Alliance, Gas 2019 event at the Jaguar Land Rover Visitors centre.
The event was identified as one that would provide critical insight in the gas industry and the innovations that the industry is currently working towards into the 2020’s and was a mixture of panel discussions and industry leaders with opportunities to network and interact with Q&A sessions intertwined throughout the day.
A very interesting and informative event showcasing the moving away from natural gas as the only solution as hybrid fuels are being more and more developed.
The day ended with an exciting opportunity for an hours tour of the Jaguar Land Rover factory floor and the building of the F-Type sports car, the last hand-built car currently made by Jaguar.
On Friday 1st November, TSS were sponsors of and attendees of the 56th Northern Branch Pipeline industry Guild (PIG) Dinner at the prestigious Midland Hotel in Central Manchester.
The UU NMS team took a turn of the track in a team outing to the local Go-Karting circuit. Following a safety demonstration, the teams suited up and headed to the pit lanes to battle it out.
Following an extensive audit process Training and Safety Consultants Limited (TASC) have been recognised for their outstanding training, administration and post course processes by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
TASC deliver IOSH Approved Managing Safely and Working Safely courses.
This follows on from this year’s audit by UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) and last year’s award at the UKATA 10-year anniversary awards.
TASC continues to excel and have recently added the UKATA Duty to Manage course which is designed to give an overview of the duty to manage asbestos within non-domestic premises.
We are delighted to welcome our four new QS apprentices to the TSS team. Leon, Jack, Alena and Andreas will all start at UCLan on the five year day release QS Hons Degree courses in September. They will be mentored by our recently graduated team members who will provide valuable on the job training experience four days a week.
As a business, we feel we have a duty to invest in the future of the industry and this now brings our university attendees for the forthcoming year to ten.

TSS is proud to announce that two members of our team have recently graduated from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). We’re delighted that Joe Harris and Rob Smith have both gained BSc (Hons) degrees in Quantity Surveying.
The two graduates had been day release students since they started with TSS five years ago, straight after completing their A Levels. Studying part-time alongside their day jobs has meant the students could put their learning into action through practical experience and gain on-the-job knowledge and skills.
At TSS we believe in investing in our team, which helps to secure the future of the company by making sure we have people with the right skills, knowledge and experience to deliver great work for our clients. We currently have three apprentices working towards gaining degrees, at various stages of their journeys, and we’ll be welcoming another four apprentices to the company in September.
